EXT2/EXT3 extended filesystem attribute support

#1 Post by cronuscronus »

Hey all... I need to recompile the kernel for either Puppy 1.0.2 or 1.0.3 to enable the ext2/ext3 extended attribute support. The forum here says that Puppy is back on 2.4.x but the kernel-recompile howto uses a 2.6 configuration. The configuration also creates a slough of modules that don't fit into the 11MB image.gz when mounted as a loopback device.

Can anybody provide some insight?

Thx [/i]

The kernel was compiled on Slackware 9.1, but you could compile it elsewhere.

The "how to compile a kernel" page, further down, has instructions for the 2.4 kernel.

Puppy has a subset of the full modules.

See Puppy Unleashed for how to build a live-CD and apply depmod.
