The idea is that it is a simple way of installing software on Linux, especially LiveCD's.
On the website it says if the linux distro doesn't come with klik setup then "please press Alt-F2 and paste: wget klik.atekon.de/client/install -O -|sh"
Then you just navigate the site to find the software you want 'klik' it and it downoads and runs the software.
Works like a charm on PCLOS. Puppy unfortunately give a whimper
The Alt-F2 don't do nothing. I believe it's supposed to open a terminal? Anyway I open rxvt and key it in, get an error asking me to "/root/klik-cmg-install-root" then a box saying I need to restart mozilla/firefox. Then a box says it's all ready.
Restart mozilla and klik - get a box popping up asking if I want to install the app (good) then it comes with an error "Error: error when trying to run foo"
Then I try the "/root/klik-cmg-install-root" run "wget klik.atekon.de/client/install -O -|sh" again.
gives this in rxvt:
Code: Select all
# wget klik.atekon.de/client/install -O -|sh
--00:55:32-- http://klik.atekon.de/client/install

If puppy could klik it'd be fab. Not the be all and end all but very usefull IMHO. Especially if it worked out of the box!
