Subject description: Suggestion that all kmap-1.14.1 keyboard layouts should be available

I feel that all kmap-1.14.1 keyboard layouts should be available in Puppy Linux.

I invite all users of non-us keyboards to test the concept.

To test download

http://www.afi-vasteras.se/ppa-422.iso:ppa-422kmap.iso.delta

which is a delta file related to ppa-422.iso

md5sums
7382ac432532757aa95dd9e2070ebdd0 ppa-422.iso:ppa-422kmap.iso.delta

423c3607ffe6fda530ab64750954ee34 ppa-422kmap.iso

The kmap set of keymaps is used instead of the kbd set which saves some space. The ppa-422kmap.iso file is 320k smaller than ppa-422.iso Very Happy

Hi ecube,
- Just a quick question :
is this the console keyboard layouts (no X running) or the X console keyboard layouts, as this is not quite clear in the heading.

Hi Maddox,

The proposed change affects the console keyboard layout and the choice of keymap at the initial boot. The xorg kbd keyboard driver is not involved.

Regards,

ecube
