Which puppy are you trying this on? Upup?
Anyway, try to take this deb, use my deb2pet (see signature) to convert it and install:

schism,

If it's asking for libs then I think it works...btw how did you convert the sfs? (using sfs converter or by hand in terminal)

hey dejan, i remembered when i saw this thread back on the first page. i installed amarok in 4.2.1 and it runs fine--it not only plays flac and ogg, but it also plays mpc which is a very rare codec--i think it is still being used, but i was trying it out a few years ago and still have some music in that format. great job. many users need a good music manager or else they will use a different os, imho anyway. thanks.

also needed libaudio.so.2 and when I got that It froze. I had to stop due to appointments but when my daughter gets to bed I'll get back on it. I'll repack it with all the libs then.

OK, I just booted in 4.3 beta 2, after getting libpcre3 lib from debian repo I succesfully loaded amarok and also ff 3.5 it seems that new kernel fixed issues with this apps. So amarok definitely works on 4.3 beta 2! yay

Hi dejan555 (and anyone else still monitoring this thread)! Using the new 4.3 final, installed the amarok sfs, renaming it to "amarok_430.sfs" - i click on itt from the menu, it flashes and disappears. Typing "amarok" in terminal, i get the following output:
Amarok: [Loader] Starting amarokapp...
Amarok: [Loader] Don't run gdb, valgrind, etc. against this binary! Use amarokapp.
amarokapp: error while loading shared libraries: libpcreposix.so.3: cannot open shared object file: NO such file or directory
Any ideas what i am doing wrong?

Also, you said:

I think i can get the lib file but where do i put it?

libpcre3_7.6-2.1_i386.pet

I'm trying to install Amarok in Puppy 4.3.1, full install. I've downlaoded the SFS file without a problem, but when I click on the link to download the PET file, it takes me to a screen full of code. If I try to go up one level to see if I can download the file, it tells me I don't have rights to access that server. So far I haven't been able to get Amarok to work with the lib file. Is there anyplace else I can get the PET file for the lib?

Just try where it says to click to download the pet, instead right click it, choose save as, then save the pet file. Once it is all saved, then click it and it should install...

Nice work.
I always liked Amarok.
Performing well on my 4.3.1 puppy.
Time savers:
Find packages in a snap and install using Puppy Package Manager (Menu).
