XMIND for PUPPY? Subject description: Has anyone tried it? |
|
XMIND is a free mindmapping programm for Windows, MAC and Linux (http://www.xmind.net/).
It is a very fine software, but I cannot get it into Puppy. Is there anyone to create a pet-file, or can someone help me with installing that programm?
Regards

hage1,
I'm not near a puppy computer, at the moment, but if you download the debian version, then extract it somewhere, then, in theory, (IF you have a working JAVA environment), then there should be an executable, with a name like xmind.jar, which should just run if you click on it.
If not, right click on the executable xmind .jar file, and make sure the Run Action is set to:
You might like to also try, as alternatives:

@hage1,
I was wrong about the xmind .deb file containing a .jar file, as it has an .elf executable instead. Unfortunately, after extracting it, I only managed to get it going once. Every other time I've tried it has segfaulted.

Thank you for your suggestions.
Freemind is not really what I want, so I have to wait and hope. What I like best with XMIND is the way I can do brainstorming with it, really excellent.
