Has anyone tried (successfully) changing Puppy to UTF-8?
In Hacaoís language changing instructions (as copied to the Wikki), he changes the locale to en_US-utf8 (which is what I want), but he does so in Vector- where the utf-8 locale exists already- and mentions not being successful in Puppy.
(Is the Viet-Pup utf-8?)
Doopdoopís solution (somewhere in the forum) was just to replace the fonts in /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc with unicode fonts from another distro- not changing the locale and it didnít work for me. (even using Rox 2.4.1 (as recommended somplace else) I couldnít see Hebrew filenames)
While I'm at it: I read somewhere that thereís an option for unicode support when compiling the kernel, which can be compiled as a module (nls_utf8, isnít in puppy). Anyone know if itís essential?
