I have just posted a very interesting idea to
http://www.linuxforchristians.org/?p=15 ... omment-112 today. Please give it a look.

Here's a blurb:

A‪n idea has been forwarded today by a few of the ShepherdPup users to pursue several local churches this month about possibly presenting ShepherdPup - Personal Edition to their congregations as a Christmas/New Years gift. It has even been suggested that we post to ChristianSource and to others Church sites to make this an internet-wide idea.

The concept is quite intriguing............

BIG NEWS!!! OSIS xml text can now be imported into pBiblx - nearly 200 Bible versions!!
Download osis2pbiblx.tar.gz here: http://shepherdpuplinux.us

USAGE:
gunzip osis2pbiblx.tar.gz (in a executable path)
gunzip filename.zip
osis2pbiblx.sh filename_osis.xml (make sure of directory path)

My thanks to the efforts of the zefania-sharp project at sourceforge.

New plug-in pbiblx-speak.tar.gz - This pBless plug-in produces multilingual parallel speech synthesis. Perfect for language study or drill. Also reads plain text. Requires espeak.**.**.pet and portaudio.**.**.pet

To use append /usr/local/pbiblx/plugins/pbiblx-speak.sh to config file via PBIBLX>OUTPUT>SETTINGS. Comment out (#) any other active plug-in.

Merry Christmas - Ya'll!

As a Christmas gift to ShepherdPup users here on the forum, I would like to share an alpha preview of the next generation of pBiblx.

http://rpritts.homelinux.net/

Code named "pBiblx2 - Street Wise Bible Application System" it is due for release mid-January 2010 on ShepherdPup. This is a web based pBiblx cgi running on my personal Hiawatha. You are free to play around with it; see what you think. New features are being added daily, bugs are being worked as I find them. Please let me know if you stumble on them. Come back often to see it evolve.

I would like to thank every one that helped out and all those that have used ShepherdPup. Downloads of the current ShepherdPup and pBiblx-0.1.7 are going through the roof this month since Distrowatch pumped Shep'. God's word is being shared and that's a wonderful thing.

As we say here in the Rockies -

Merry Christmas - Ya'll!
