Compiz Subject description: anybody using compiz with puppy? |
|
I am starting to use Compiz on a Ubuntu machine that I haven't converted to Puppy yet. I would like to use Compiz on several laptops that I am running Puppy on. Has anyone setup Compiz in Puppy yet? I love all my Puppies and thanks for everyones hard work. Craig
ps I guess I should also ask how to install it if someone is using it. Thanks again Craig

Try Tipsy Pup and the older but very reliable WNOP .2 puppy derivatives.

Pupplet downloads |
|
Hi Gadabout,
You can find Tipsy at on the puplet download page. The page it is on is here: http://www.puppylinux.org/?q=downloads/puplets&page=2 . Also http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?search_id=1670847268&t=38742 has the description. I was a big time distribution hopper before I found Puppy Linux but now that I am here there are so many variations to try and I love it. You can also check out more puplets at http://murga-linux.com/puppy/index.php?f=34 which gives you news and downloads for the most up to date puplet projects out there. Best wishes

Yep, try the Tipsy 4.13. I've tried it on the vista (yuk) machine in the house and it works perfectly! It has the Nvidia 6000 series graphics and it's no trouble (do some tweaking) running the cube for four or more sides to the cube. That is SOOOO Cooll! and handy for me since I really like the multiple workspaces (I can keep it all straight if I have a couple of workspaces to do my "work") on the computer.
Run the live cd and you'll know if it'll work for you, if you have enough ram and processor, that is. It will take an hour or so to find the settings (it took me longer) to get the cube (some may find the adjustments right away).
OR try the lighthouse pup, it's big but it'll prob'ly work for you. Gather the bits of it and go from there.
