Go language

#1 Post by Lobster »

Go
is it a perplexing oriental game?
A programming language from Google
to replace everything?
Find out here:

and compile it for Puppy if you would be so kind . . .

Hmmm... I wonder how much of what those Google people say you can actually believe.
And why is it that even Google insists on giving a language a name so short that it will be almost impossible to google to find information about?
I suppose "go" is slightly better than "c", "r" or "s", but not much.
Do you know a good gtkdialog program? Please post a link here

Part of the situation is about making something open source for commercial advantage
and this is the tactic followed.
Google is pursuing cloud (rent your internet and computer usage)
as a future business model as are the other corporate rackets.

oops - rant mood just went on.

I am very impressed with Mono
which supports the Microsoft C# language (and Vala)
I started looking at Go and realised it would take a day
to compile and make sense of
- when really I have no use for it . . .

Back to Genie :)

I've got to say I'm not at all impressed with Mono. How many times bigger than Puppy is it?
Makes Python look like a shrimp... do lobsters eat shrimps?

Lobsters eat shrimp and are cannibals.

mono supports c++
and is useful for those compromised into using the
java rip off that .NET

The run time is 3.5MB [Lobster faints]
totally unsuited for Puppy but not for every situation.

Related to another thread . . .
I would like to hear more about impressions of Windows7
The paid press have been bribed into compliance
a great deal of the FOSS contingent are rabid
- I will start a thread on it.
