How to activate perl

#1 Post by yoram »

I need to load parport driver for my software to use the parallel port.
It seems that perl is not activated on my puppy linux and I cannot load the parport perl module - Device::ParallelPort::drv::parport

Any one can help?

Perl, I believe, is included in the user_devx.sfs file. Place it in the same dir as your pup file and you ought to be able to use Perl. At least in theory -- I've not tried it, but it's on my 'to do' list. If that doesn't work then maybe download Perl source and compile it yourself?

Yes, usr_dev.sfs is best,as perl is huge.
However there is a Dotpup, too:

I don't know if the parport is included, but the message also describes howto install modules via CPAN.
