I was playing with gamma settings in my laptop and I wanted to save the configuration from Monitor Gama Calibration application. I modified the calibrator to save these settings, then added a Startup Script to set gamma only if the configuration file exists.

I attach the updated gamma calibrator and the Startup Script, a little gift for Puppy 2 series users (I hope you like it. dejan555).

It works only for Puppy 2 series because the tkgamma calibrator is a tcl/tk application.

Greetings,
clarf

Ok guys I'll start building RC2, been playing with quirky for the past couple of days :) We are still 4 pages behind Pwidgets on being the longest thread, so I hope you make some noise on here soon, lol
RC1 was released on page 160 so I have 14 pages to sort out and do all the changes so it will take sometime, hopefully before my wife gets home from work its the 24th today

Up here in my country of the north, we give (and get?) our yule-tide gifts on the 24th (that's our main day of family gathering, yule-tide dinner, etc.), so I guess I can still hope for RC2 as this year's seasonal present :). It's now only an hour and a half into the 24th here, you still have almost 23 hrs to present it (my time) :) :)

My main OS is 214X16, have been slowly migrating to RC1 (working on/documenting my personalisation scripts), haven't had too much time for tinkering with this as of lately, though. Have been working "like a scalded troll" since end of November.

All the best, seasonal greetings ... :)/

Merry Christmas to everyone in this thread.

ttuuxxx your Christmas spirit is as great as is you generous heart, RC-2 is a very nice present for Puppy Community. :D

I hope you can do all changes on time ttuuxxx. There are so many changes a and so little time to implement it, but your talent is second to none I´m sure you will accomplish it... anyway a check list could be good before the new upload/release.

THANK YOU,

clarf

I'm removing Ssh-secure-telnet and Ssh-secure-telnet-gui since they didn't work, I also updated to the latest openssl and still had the same error, so I'm just tossing them out and supplying a putty package that will replace them 150%, but It won't be included by default because putty is so large, so here's the putty pet package compiled on the latest openssl. I don't think it would matter much with the current version installed. Plus not many people use telnet clients these days, mostly web admins.

Putty is great choice. Supports SSH1 and 2, RSA and DSA keys, supports copy and paste. Works flawlessly. It is great tool for maintaining linux server from command line. I think linux admins still use that kind of tool for remote administration with secure keys. For me it was mostly used tool many years.
Well, when admin need stopped, I havent used it at all for three years.

Merry Christmas. We have white Christmas here. A lot of new snow.

Can people test this file Firewall/iptables asap and see if it works :) If it does I'll toss it in, it has a nicer GUI.

The Firewall GUI is nice, I Could block pings and set Default General policies, but I could not set my personal rules I always get errors messages about check ports and address... This application seems unfinished.

In about window the close button doesn´t work. Also found very annoying that each personal rule added can´t be edited, you only can add/delete if you want to change something.

It needs some work, may be for a later 214X release.

P.D: Please don´t forget to add a menu entry for Remote Desktop.

Thanks Aitch :)
Funny when I was working on 4.2 and we were in beta mode WhoDo placed a lock on new apps, and RC status was just fixes, hmmm maybe that's the way it should be, but if you look at the almost 30 updates/additions/fixes I made, lol in a RC2, well I've never been one to follow the straight and narrow. :) I'm enjoying this so lets have some fun with it :)

I kind of figured that about the Firewall, If anyone can figure it out and submit a how-to or preconfigured defaults, that would e good, actually I had to hack the configure script a bit to get rid of the gnome deps and was amazed when it compiled without error :)
