[REQUEST] Uget 1.5.0.1

#1 Post by abushcrafter »

(Using the deb binary btw.) It now needs Gstreamer which I have off the forums. However It will not run due to some other thing! Could it be GTK? Here Is the error:

Code: Select all

/mnt/sda6/linux/Distos/Puppy/PuppyPackages/uget_1.5.0-1~getdeb1_i386/usr/bin/uget-gtk: symbol lookup error: /mnt/sda6/linux/Distos/Puppy/PuppyPackages/uget_1.5.0-1~getdeb1_i386/usr/bin/uget-gtk: undefined symbol: gtk_status_icon_set_tooltip_text
So can someone help me to get it working and maybe make a pet please if you can face it...

Yeah newer gtk2 as usual. You could try an older deb...check the dependancy version lists.

If you had the latest version of gtk, then you'd need newer pets of lots of programs which link to GTK -everything should be compiled to work together -it's not like a buffet where you can just pick and choose at random...

If you are using FF download flashgot addon and try uget from there, it may work. You can also use wget or any other downloader you have on your system.

or there's one for 4 series at http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/dis ... 1-pup4.pet

and on for 2.14X you'll need the 2 packages below, just compiled it tonight.

well just install one if it doesn't work, just uninstall it and try the next, the first one at the top of the list is from series 4 so that should work.

1.4.8.5 is in 431 by default so that works.

Maybe try 2.14X, its backend is mostly newer than 4.31 and has Firefox, plus you could just install the packages from page one of this thread and away you go. It also has a newer gtk,glib etc.

@abushcrafter,

was there any particular functionality, in the latest uget, that you desired? How different is it to it's antecedent urlgfe?
