I've moved it on my savefile already, I think horizontal is better, at the top, so stuff doesn't get clicked on the way to the taskbar..

Frodo is already included in Puppeee Arcade, although no menu entry is available (whoops!).. You need to install Tcl/Tk, which is apparently not included in 431 (whoops again):
Download: tcl-8.5a4nothreads.pet, tk-8.5a4nothreads.pet
Now... To use Frodo:
Type 'Puppy-C64' or '/usr/local/frodo/Puppy-C64' in the terminal
The next Puppeee Arcade will use puppeee beta3_3 and will include all menu items, better control panel, better emulation options and a few more apps and tweaks...
I hope to get it done today!

Hi Sc0ttman,
Just played a couple of hours with Puppeee Arcade.
(mostly doom )
Also noticed you have an old dosbox(0.71).
There's a newer one (slightly faster) 0.73.
I'll try to attach it.

I've mirrored the sfs at http://drop.io/puppeee
I really like what you've done with the wallpaper! Also wbar now works fine on a 7inch screen, and the mouse issue is fixed.

Great thanks, I'll add the mirror to the main thread and my site Oh, and thx for the link to SFS-edit, I love that app! (it's how i fixed the pwireless/mouse settings, as you suggested )
LOL, I'm glad you like the wallpaper ...
It's crude and not quite up to the work of afgs, but I thought it suits Puppeee Arcade
Silly but fun.

Good one. |
|
I'm a little late trying this one, as usual. Thanks for all the effort you've put into making these puplets.
This is the first version of Puppy Arcade that works well on my netbook. My Aspire One has some problem with the older kernal that is in most of the other versions. This time, wireless and sound work out of the box. The sound from the speakers seems a little quiet compared to most Puppies, but I use headphones most of the time anyway.
I haven't tryed most of the emulators yet. After I figured out how to get Dosbox to mount a directory, I started up Civilization. Then four hours of my life vanished before I looked at the clock.

It's my pleasure, and you're very welcome. Glad you're enjoying it.

I'm using Puppeee Arcade from a usb key and, like jemimah suggested, I added pmedia=usb so it does not copy and mess files on my internal hard disk puppeee.
I'm trying MetalGearSolid on PSX and had very VERY low FPS (about 2) with audio leaks.
Question: is my eee 901 (1GB RAM atom 1.6GHz processor) too weak or need somehow some particular tweaking?
Using ePSXe instead of PSX and setting soud latency to maximum I can play but it slooows down too much when movie-like scenes run or during combat actions.
I expected these emulator to be less resource eaters considering the old Playstation One hardware comparing to eee one.
Suggestions?

Have you tried turning on overclocking, and running in super-performance mode?
I think PuppeeeArcade doesn't have Eee control yet, but there is a pet you can try installing on the Puppeee thread.
I know the 901 has trouble with overclocking, but it's the only way I know of to actually get more juice out of the processor.
According to Wikipedia, "the performance of a single core Atom is about half that of a Pentium M of the same clock rate," so don't be fooled into thinking 1.6GHz is as fast as you think it should be.

I'm guessing the graphics chip in Eee PCs is too weak for decent 3D gaming, but checkout PCSX as well..

and don't forget that tweaking settings in the emulators themselves, or switching plugins can have a massive effect on performance.

Thanks for your suggestions ladies and gentlemen,
I tried several tweakings (not all tho) but had not achieved a decent framerate and sound...
no problem anyway, I'll try other games... I found ZakMcKracken for DOS and it's a time machine of my youth fun...

Another couple of questions:
Q#1: Would it be possible to have an sfs with gimp (and, maybe, openoffice, all in one sfs) to be used in standard Puppeee?
I need them rarely but when I have the need I have to switch to xubuntu and now I'm uncomfortable with it since I'm puppeee addicted... a simpy add'n'reboot would do the trick!
Using GIMP pet is not the best solution to save eeesave file space (I backup them so I try to keep then 256MB, no more)
I tried an sfs for gimp 2.6 found on forum but GLIBC_2.7 is missing and God knows what else so, since they are ready to use in PuppyArcade2...
Q#2: why on Puppeee Arcade clicking on Pinboard Lock icon works on my 901 like in no other puplet ever tried?
Where's the secret ???

Check out this thread: http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=29194
I wonder if the Lock thing is a locale issue - the lock works fine for me on Puppeee. Sc0ttman did you make any changes to the screen lock application?

Not at all.. I removed the icon and added it again manually in PuppyPin (or whichever file lists all the icons...)... But that wouldn't have made any difference, as you know...

thanks for posting the pet2sfs
about the lock:
I guess it could be a language related issue...
In puppeee arcade I'm not asked for kyb layout like in puppeee and I see in /usr/local/apps/Xlock/AppRun a $ENVIRONMENT_LANG case, even if I don't understand what it's for...
