Hmmmm I would hate to start over but it looks like I might have to stick with Openssl, all web reports on OpenSSL vs Gnutls always says that Gnutls is faster, more secure, and overall better. Well Ghasher, Transmissions haven't been converted, patched, upgraded for Gnutls. That said these apps would be a no go without adding Openssl. I'm just wondering how many apps aren't Gnutls capable as of yet, I'm a strong believer that simple apps should compile and if they can't, the OS isn't very good, lol man talking about 2 days wasted work.
This is what I've installed on the next release that I'm about to dump and start over, plus all the other apps I posted on here. well atleast i still have all the files and sources that will save time CLARFFFFFFFFFFF lol lol lol

Hi ttuuxxx,
I´m sorry you have to start over again. I know you are working in many projects at same time and this time is limited... although we know actual support state for Gnutls ...
ttuuxxx seriously talking, OpenSSL libraries seems to work as you pointed before these are needed for many apps. But some binaries does not work, like I posted before ssh-agent and ssh-keygen don´t work. It´s 54KB and 94KB of wasted space...
ttuuxxx sorry again for the inconvenience and if you need any help feel free to ask.
Greetings,
clarf

Thanks sinc, I'm going to need some feedback to be sure I post everything everyone thinks should be there. I started updating over the weekend and quickly realized that I still had the original downloads on a backup drive from when my desktop died back in November.
I've got everything on the server, now its just a matter of listing everything that we talked about actually posting. Hope to have it ready this week.
Keep poking at me so I don't get too caught up in other projects!

no problem, clarf I was laughing my head off when I was putting your name in caps, lol
I look at it this way, we both don't know everything about Linux, but at least we learned something new together today. lol
oh by the way dillo is dead also, lol I guess gnutls would be good for some apps, but its too large to keep both.

I indeed laughed about that... You are right ttuuxxx, I steel feel very newbie in many areas.
dillo is dead . I use it to open plain .html files (my source of knowledge).
Your list is very nice ttuuxxx, let´s try to keep it updated... I´m looking at some pnethood authentication problems in Domain Networks, If I can fix it I´ll post an update for Pnethood.

Okay ttuuxxx, is this the same notecase that you posted a hundred plus pages ago? I just want to be sure I have the latest and greatest. The filename and version are the same, so I just want to clarify.
I'll post homebank too.

I figured it was newer, but I guess not, lol I downloaded the sources yesterday and compiled it, But don't post anything from page 186-187 they might have gnutls as deps and won't run on any 2.14X release, I haven't tested them all but I'm pretty sure most have it, I'll recompiled everything again tomorrow, too late tonight.

Just playin' around |
|
Hello !
I was a bit intrigued by this post by mikeb in a recent discussion on what file-system to use for the pup_save-file .
So, tonight I decided to try to implement the usage of reiserfs for the pup_save-file fs into pup214XRC2_initrd.
Increased the initrd-size (un-compressed) by 100kB to include reiserfsck in initrd_/bin, should pfix=fsck be issued on boot-up, and made changes to init to allow the usage of reiserfs for the pup_save-file.
Re-sizing is not implemented yet, though. Although, first play-arounds with reiserfs-files indicate that the shrinking of them is safer than the shrinking of ext2-files; more testing needed, so no re-sizing, yet.
Should you want to try reiserfs out for your pup_save-file, you should, in a frugal install, replace initrd.gz with the attached initrd.gz, and make a pup_save with Code: | dd if=/dev/zero of=/PATH_TO PUP-DIRECTORY/pup_save-NAME.rfs bs=1M count=YOUR_DESIRED_PUP_SAVE_FILE_SIZE_(larger than 32, though);yes |mkfs.reiserfs -f /PATH_TO PUP-DIRECTORY/pup_save-NAME.rfs | .
Creation of a reiserfs pup_save-file upon first shut-down, as well as automatic re-sizing of the same is not implemented, yet.
Test at your own risk, I'm using a reiserfs pup_save now ....
ttuuxxx
Don't get tempted (just in case ) to include this initrd.gz, just meant for trying out for the not-so-faint-at-heart !
EDIT: corrected typo in dd-command.
Enjoying myself /

Hi Sullysat from this point on it will work on 2.14X
So here's the first application
Okay there are lots of file-managers out there, this one is small, but has potential, the default icon theme needs changing, it can be configured to recognise newer file formats by editing its configs. I was going to change the theme but that would take time, lol and I get to easily distracted. So I'm focusing on the next release,

Hi ttuuxxx, just installed it but doesn´t go. At command-line it shows errors loading a missing library LibPropList.so.0...
It could be great to replace the ugly uxplor with any other small and updated file browser.

Thanks ttuuxxx, To be honest I didn´t like it that much. It looks nicer than xplur, but many functions doesn´t seem to work, like View - Toolbar, Statusbar, options, Tools - GoTo, etc...
It lack of others needed options. For example no right click options for file, Detail view does not show additional info, etc.
Is there any other File explorer app?.

Its ugly . Seems to have many useful options, but a small test and freeze twice my system
hmmm, What about emelFM or emelFM2 (an updated version) File Manager used by PULP, don´t know how much speed/size difference between both versions...
Update: Just found another one, PCMan.
