#1 Post by LinuxManiac »

How can I boot with loadlin.exe from dos?
(I copied out the things from isolinux.cfg, but when loadlin loads the image.gz the following message will be displayed :

Less than 4MB system halted.

Note I have 384MB RAM it's no t enough?

Have you tried adding ram=384 to loadlin ? I have tried to get loadlin to boot puppy but no luck I use grub now. I had wanted to be able to boot puppy from a command prompt but gave up in the end.

I gave up on loadlin long ago; couldn't get it to work. I'm using tiny.exe in PupWin98, like this:

Code: Select all

PUPPY\tiny PUPPY/VMLINUZ PUPPY/IMAGE.GZ root=/dev/ram0 PHOME=hda1 PFILE=pup001-none-262144
The tiny.exe program may be elsewhere on this or the old forum or even at the wiki but I've attached it to this topic for your convenience. Its true name is "Gujin Linux boot loader".
