My disks are invisible with DMA How can I switch it off?

8) Idea: recompile the kernel, on my installed Debian, and replace the vmlinuz BUT i can't find the config of the running kernel...

you can use the nodma option when you boot ... i haven't booted a Puppy cd which allows boot options, so i'm not sure how it's set up ... i think you would type something like 1 nodma but that may not work, depending how isolinux was set up

Just a guesstion: would hdparm come into play here?

Look in /lib/modules in running Puppy.
