What about just a warning in the wep/wpa screen that if you don't connect in so many seconds that the key you enterred may be incorrect?
|
That could work. I'll try it. Also maybe making you enter the passkey twice would reduce errors.

I can't download from drop.io- I get a login page. It says if I was not expecting to login, then the drop may have expired. What to do??

I have a new battery patch for Pwidgets. If you believe that the one I posted earlier was causing problems this should fix it. Don't worry that it say's "old".. , I just made it The syntax was incorrect in the first patch, it is corrected now.
This will overwrite the battery config in Pwidgets, no need to uninstall previous version.
Cheers

Gerry, the drop.io site is working for me. Can you try it again?
01micko, that's for working on this! I will include your fixes in the next version which I will hopefully be done with next week.
outtaspam, sorry I forgot about your menu issue. I'll take a look tomorrow.

Thanks jemimah!
This puplet suits me because I have a eee, I have been helping ziggy with pwidgets since the start and I like tint2
Only thing I got to do now is figure out that freeze on the 701SD when you hit Fn-F2 to disable wireless, we'll get there
Cheers

The new version will have a work around for the wireless on the 701sd. If I can find one cheap, I may just buy it and see if I can solve the issue properly. No one mentioned this problem with the old kernel, and no one's really complaining about it on the internet, so that makes me think I'm missing something.

I stumbled around the forums and found the solution by altering the Categories entry:
Categories=X-Graphic
They now appear in the Graphics menu.

hi jemimah,
Ok, I've got myself boxpuppeee 2 and all is well so far. I have been a little out of the loop with the eee testing so a question.. before I crash my machine. .
What is the status of the Fn-F2 bug (wireless hotkey) on the 701SD? No, don't answer, curiosity got the better of me!
Other hotkeys seem fine. Perhaps a conditional test for the 701SD could at least stop the crash, perhaps giving an error message til we manage to resolve this bug.
Cheers

A nasty bug. I saved the session as you do, no prob, all saved but on a reboot it didn't load. I see the sfs is named eee-431.sfs but the save is named pupsave.2fs. I renamed to eeesave.2fs and it loads, so I gather you may have overlooked that detail.
Cheers

I've uploaded a new version with a fix for the save bug.
I did change the logic of the wlan script and one person told me the new version didn't crash on the 701SD. Apparently, that's not entirely true.

Apparently the wireless toggle panic for the 701SD exists on Ubuntu now too.
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/494287
Guess I'm not missing something obvious after all.
I guess I'll just add a work around and hope it gets fixed in the next kernel.
