Freemind worked when first installed but now it won't

#1 Post by Owl »

Hi,

I tried to install freemind, a mind mapping program and currently project of the month on sourceforge.net (http://freemind.sourceforge.net/wiki/in ... /Main_Page).

Yesterday I downloaded the latest zip file, unzipped it in a seperate directory, put in chmod +x freemind.sh in xterm, clicked on freemind.sh in Rox and it worked. I was able to create a file and save it.

Today I clicked again on freemind.sh, and I got an error message:
No run action specified for this type (appliation/x.sh) - you can set a run action by choosing . . .

I tried and tried, reinstalled, reinstalled again, but nothing works today ?

Where did I go wrong ?

regards,
Owl.

Hi,

yes, Java is installed just fine (otherwise it wouldn't have worked the first time anyway  ).

I once saw a T-shirt: the only reason I have brains is to keep my ears apart . . .

Suits me just fine !

Sorry did not read your question properly
It sounds like the program needs to be associated with Java. Which can be done with a right click and Rox but not sure of the exact process or why this should be working and then not . . .
Maybe Freemind can be contacted? Are other java programs working?
