Best Data 56K v.92 serial modem works well for me

This modem works great. It's a Conexant serial controller modem.
It also does not have an on-off switch. It is an auto on-off deal. When you click on connect, it turns itself on, and when you disconnect it turns itself off. Very nice if you are like me, I always forget to turn the modem on or off.

I got mine at Fry's Electronics for $49.99 US.

gearxs.com has them cheaper, but they are out of stock right now.

Fit a flying on/off switch in the mains lead so that you can do an immediate, 'illegal' cutout if your signal lights are flashing and you suspect you are being sent malware.

Excelent idea sage. I have experienced that a couple of time recently. Had to disconnect, but didn't have to turn the modem off. But I did see this a lot in windows, and had to do a hard reboot to stop it. I'll look around and see what I can find, Hopefully not too costly. Might buy another power bar for that purpose.

Thanks for the reminder.

happy puppy,

An in-line mains switch shouldn't cost more than a couple of
