Thunar is included in 2.14x by default with rox :)
You just can't compile it, its not that simple, there are lots of setting and other deps needed. but if you download my xfburn package from the software section, you'll find that the Thunar pet in the 2.14X thread, combined you'll have a working thunar, still will need a bit of configuring, but I would say its by far the easiest way :)

This is the Thunar/Xfburn I made for 2.14X it comes configured, and I removed the root warning from the sources :) Uninstall the other one to test this one :)

oh ya 2.14X has Dbus because it has Firefox 3 series,
I found dbus on the forum, you'll need to install
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... ch&id=7131
and
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... ch&id=7130

I don't think it actually needs to be running, but if it does, then open /root/.xinitrc as text and add the following line
dbus-uuidgen --ensure &
just above, which is found at the very bottom of the code..

which $CURRENTWM >/dev/null && exec $CURRENTWM
[ -x $CURRENTWM ] && exec $CURRENTWM
exec jwm

Great works...
Your thunar is work good on my puppy. The message run as root is gone. bye-bye... :lol:
But I have litle question for this thunar.
1. Why the thumnails not work (the .pet, script, mime application - iis look like folder and the
other). Only Root look like home48.png.
2. The icon sdax,sdbx,sdcx ..... run with rox, not thunar.
Can you fix it..??
:?:

I know this is an old post, but I have a smidge of new info for it.

You can(as long as you can use a hex editor) easily replace the ugly paranoid message with a simple gray(or whatever color you want) band where it is. No recompile needed. This is useful because it lets you "fix" the issue using whatever version of Thunar you have.

Just open "/usr/bin/thunar" in your hex editor(I used wxHexEditor) and find the string of the message and highlight and fill with zeros. Then get the color of the band using a color sampling picker(like in mtpaint or GIMP or whatever) find it and replace with whatever color you want. Save it, overwrite, and restart xfce. Done.

This is what you end up with if you use the color of the window. Not as perfect a fix as taking out the code before recompile, but worlds easier(for the novice like me) than a recompile too.
