I have a netbook, and currently the windows key does nothing, but I was wondering if there was a configuration to map that key to open the "start menu" (the puppy icon Menu button in the lower left corner of the screen) in puppy 4.3.1?

The menu is already "mapped" to the right click. But if you wanted to map the button to something like "default browser" or such, I think it has been addressed... just can't remember where???
Use this
http://wellminded.com/puppy/pupsearch.html
and try "map buttons" or some such!!

If you have an application on the desktop you can use the windows key combination to open the application. I use Windows key + E to open Rox and Windows key + D for a terminal window.

Right click on the icon>edit>hyperkey I think it's called.

This does not work with Xvesa though, only Xorg.

thank you guys for your help, using that search engine I found this article: http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=21288&start=30

Funny regular google didn't get it.

So long story short, I updated /.jwm/jwmrc-personal by adding the line:

<Key keycode="115">root:3</Key>

(xev revealed that on my keyboard, the windows key had no lookup string, hence the keycode).
