#1 Post by ChazZTheSpazZ »

Depends on which modem you have. Run the hardware probe and if you are still unable to determine which on post the results from the probe.

NB the *free* linuxant drivers limit you to 14.4. If you have a license for the drivers or plan on purchasing one you will need the user_dev.fs to compile the drivers.

If you don't have or won't be getting a license, or you just want standard dialup internet you can try one of the packages available here.

Note however, that the lastest version of the drivers adds faxing, v.92 features and prob a few others.

Well, I do have plans of eventully purchasing a license, but not right now. Is there a way I can get 56k speeds for free? (doubtful but I thought I might ask, being the pirate I am)

That's a HSF modem see here.
The link provided in the above post is to an earlier version of the drivers before you had to pay for them. They are rated for 56k.

I ran the .pup installer, but when i tried to do the setup part, it said it couldn't detect an hsf/hcf modem. I tried it twice but with the same result. What now?
