Retrovol Volume mixer |
|
Retrovol
Retrovol Volume mixer
A volume mixer that lets you scroll on the tray-icon, and has nice sliders.
When you run it, it adds an icon to the tray. If you left click on it, it will pop up a slider which should be bound to the "Master" volume control, like the one currently in Puppy.
You can also scroll on the icon to manipulate the volume without having to click on anything.
If you middle-click, it will toggle the mute status.
If you right-click, it will open the main window. (You can also re-run retrovol while it's already running to open this window.) In the main window you can see all the active controls (which is everything it can find by default). You can also go to File->Configure and adjust things like colors, dimensions, etc., along with choosing precisely which sliders to have it show and which order to display them.

VLC mediaplayer Lite |
|
VLC 8.6i media-player Lite/no GUI
Stripped vlc-0.8.6i with no gui and it gets down small enough to fit in a forum post <1.4MB. It plays video extremely well though even on light hardware... you just need to use keyboard shortcuts (use CTRL+Q to exit or it will stay in the background)
VLC 8.6h media-player Lite/with GUI
VLC Media-Player
This version plays online video streams
Dvd's and xvid, divx, Quicktime
Also full screen works fine and also you can change the aspect ratio while the movie is playing without it crashing
Also the sound works.
Just keep in mind this is a basic version that does what most people need and works great on older pc's.

pupRadio (with pupTelly) Subject description: yes another streaming app |
|
PupRadio
It is really just a bookmarking tool (a nice small one at that Wink ) for your favourite radio web streams. Has a section for video streams too.
There are 8 presets. All you have to do is find the stations/channels you like and save them as a preset. There are weblinks at the bottom of the gui to help you find streams. (Radio www and Telly www)
It will work with gxine and mplayer and detects if you have either or both so it should be good for most puppies and puplets. On first run you have to choose your player, even if you have only one ( Sad ) but after that it remembers your choice.
You can test the stream link before you save it if you like with the "Play Now!" and "Watch Now!" features. Just copy your url to the box and hit the play button. If it works ok you can save it as a preset.
There is also a bookmark list for stations/channels you want to save but don't use as often as the presets.
