This is still getting me a bit Don, what you are saying is the the bookmarks work fine but you don't like the fonts, Oh you can change the fonts in the /root/.dillo/dillorc file
Have you played around with the fonts? the reason why if I remove dillo 8.6 and go back to dillo 8.5 this is a list of changes that will be lost. How about changing your fonts to what you like and post the /root/.dillo/dillorc file and I'll use that and keep 8.6.
what ever you want 8.5 or 8.6. I think personally, it would be better to change the fonts and not the browser.

dillo-0.8.6 [Apr 26, 2006]
- * Designed and implemented a dpi protocol library (libDpip.a in /dpip).
* Added a couple of new dpip commands.
* Fixed and uniformed the escaping of values inside dpip tags.
* Ported the bookmarks, download, file, https, ftp and hello plugins,
plus the dpid daemon and the rest of the source tree to use it.
* Improved the dpi buffer reception to handle split buffers (This was
required for handling arbitrary data streams with dpip).
* Fixed a bug in Cache_entry_remove_raw.
* Added a couple of "const" and C++ wrappers to dpiutil's API.
* Fixed a serious bug with the FTP plugin that led to two downloads of the
same file when left-clicking a non-viewable file.
* Added MIME/type detection to the FTP plugin, and removed popen().
* Set the dpi daemon (dpid) not to exit when the downloads dpi is running.
* Improved the accuracy of the illegal-character error reporting for URLs.
* Now save dialog replaces %20 and ' ' with '_' in the Filename suggestion.
* Made URL ADT automatically count and strip illegal characters from URLs.
* Added dpi/downloads.cc (Default FLTK2-based GUI for downloads dpi).
* Added "./configure --disable-dlgui" to build without FLTK2-GUI downloads.
* Fixed dpip's tag syntax and its parsing to accept any value string.
* Added DOCTYPE parsing (for better bug-meter error messages).
* Added a DOCTYPE type declaration tag to dpi-generated HTML.
* Fixed bookmarks dpi to escape ' in URLs and &<>"' in titles (BUG#655).
* Added a check for malicious image sizes in IMG tags.
* Made the parser aware of buggy pages with multiple BODY and HTML elements.
* Fixed a bug in MIME content/type detection.
* Check HTTP Content-Type against real data (a security procedure).
Patches: Jorge Arellano
- * Added a datauri dpi to handle "data:" URIs (RFC-2397).
Patch: Jorge Arellano, Ben Wiley Sittler
- * Moved the cookies management into a dpi server: cookies.dpi.
* Removed the restriction of only one dillo with cookies enabled!
* Fixed a bug with cookies for sites with self-signed certificate.
* Updated the cookies documentation.
* Made the downloads plugin dillo-cookie aware.
* Ported the cookies dpi to libDpip.a.
* Merged the new dpip code into the source tree.
Patches: Diego Sáenz, Jorge Arellano
- * Added "./configure --disable-threaded-dns" (for some non reentrant BSDs).
Patch: Jorge Arellano, Francis Daly
- * Fixed a bug with roman literals divisible by 10 (BUG#700).
* Fixed a bug with long alphabetically ordered lists (BUG#704).
Patch: Glyn Kennington
- * Fixed a file descriptor leak in the dpi protocol library.
* Fixed a subtle segfault bug with malformed URLs in cookies.c.
Patch: Francis Daly

Posting from my full install of RC5 ,on the trusty P3 test box. Everything appears to be working fine......including Dillo.
I agree with davesurrey, I see no reason to revert to an older, buggy version of Dillo but I defer to your judgment.
Back to more testing........

If anyone would like to see a free local newspaper, well Its not that local, its about a 70min drive away from where I am, the local one doesn't post online like this one does, anyways its really nice how it works and zooms in, Reminds me of the microfilm that libraries used to use.

I have been accused of trying to introduce the inclusion of a buggy and out of date dillo browser, ie, dillo 0.8.5-i18n-misc.
Just to clear the air and get an understanding of what happened in the past and to show where the dillo_0.8.5-4.1.pet the source of the dillo 0.8.5-i18n-misc browser came from I submit the following:
| ttuuxxx on page 194 of this thread wrote: | Don That is why I am here, to help and educate new users and have some fun along the way
I made up another version of dillo, this is how you install it(emphasis and spacing added)
1-st delete /root/.dillo <--hidden file so press the binoculars in root
2-nd install the pet package below
3-rd click Menu--> Refresh Menu
now try it
ttuuxxx |
This is my last word on this subject!
By the way, several of the contributors in this thread remind me of little schoolboys in "show and tell".

I have posted else where on the forum about fonts so i thought a small post here might help some people.
It does not seem to be widely known that the window manager font being used also affects the font in browsers and all other programs, so my first change to fonts is in Desktop/JWM Configuration Manager/Desktop/GTK Theme/Font. Changing this to suit makes the programs a pleasure to use.
Remember to untick the box that allows web sites to use their own fonts in your browser preferences if you want to use your own choice.

Hi ttuuxxx,
If you didn´t notice before a made some test for RC5: http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=42553&start=3419
As I reported there, I had problems with lameSMBxplorer so I followed your advice and installed latest version (lameSMBxploer-0.2.1b), now I can see my shares and open them (also using a DOMAIN ID in my office), anyway it´s slower than Pnethood, but I think it´ll be OK to keep both apps.
P.S: There´s a new Hiawatha version that fix some small bugs, I´ll compile it tonight and upload a new package.

You may have missed what I wrote yesterday similarly.
| Quote: | I installed the lameSMBxploer-0.2.1b and somehow got to see my samba shares.
So it looks like the new version works but I have to say that I much prefer the seemingly ease of use of Pnethood. Perhaps put both in but pls pls don't chuck Pnethood which just works despite HairyWill no longer being so active here.
Dave |
So I fully agree.

Here's a cd burner the reason why its so large is that it uses cdrdao as the backend, which is about 1.5mb extracted. The program is small and uses the zenity library which is small also, funny that puppy doesn't use zenity when its only like 30kb compressed,anyways here's a all-in-one package.
