It works for me.......always has.
The instructions in the wiki are fairly good now ( they used to be a bit vague. )
it's handy having the forum as a double check to see if you are logged in though.

maybe Gaim just lies to you about beingthe only one on?
and I got impatient about nobody answer my resounding "Hi"?
will try again, although the broweser based one works fine.
Is there a way to make Gaim beep when a new message is posted to bring that fact up to my attention.

If you misspell #puppylinux you create a new chat room. You're the only one there because you're the only one who knows the name. Cool, huh?

if you use Gaim to connec to MSN, then it beeps when a message is recieved. IRC mode doesn't do this, so you have to pay attention

Configuring sound in Gaim |

will try again, although the browser-based one works fine. | Something happened in the last day or so. First, the Gaim configuration on my computer was zeroed, then, when I redid it, I'm suddenly the only one in the #puppylinux chat room and I'm the moderator!

I stumbled across where Gaim keeps its sound files, in /usr/local/share/sounds/Gaim
