Macpup Opera 2.0 Subject description: e17 Macpup |
|
Prit And I are proud to announce the release of our newest e17 Macpup,
Macpup Opera 2.0
Macpup Opera 2.0 (a.k.a. O2) is based on puppylinux 4.3.1 (k2.6.30.5) .O2 has all the apps from 4.3.1 plus Opera 10.10 and Gimp 2.6.3 .O2 also Has Dbus 1.2.16 .
The Enlightenment e17 window manager version .061 was also compiled and installed from source.
You can also use jwm. Use the exit menu to change window managers ,
In e17 that is the exit icon on the desktop. Please note that not all the
options in the e17 system shutdown menu work with puppy linux. That is
why the exit menu was added.
The battery module in this build of E17 had a problem of Maxing out the cpu.So I removed it in O2.I have added a script to check battery status .
Just click on the battery icon if you are using a laptop.
This macpup is the first one that was not a remaster.I rebuilt the pup-431.sfs by hand Ttuuxxx style. The.iso is 164 mb.

I may have asked you this question before, I can't remember. I noticed the individual desktops are assigned 0,0 and 0,1 etc. Can I set specific applications to launch to only one desktop specifically assigned. Such as Opera opens on desktop 0,0 and switches to that desktop on launch. This is nice for small 10" screens etc. Thanks in advance. By the way, best looking icons yet in the ibar, very nice.

Using the "Illume Module" right now for 10" netbook. It works quite good, all the windows open in either fullscreen or horizontally maximized with a "close" button centered. There are some problems with other apps using illume but probably a discussion for another thread somewhere sometime.
I have not had a successful shutdown or restart using the "off" button on the ibar.
BTW I read this interesting piece on a UNR UI that uses the EFL libraries. http://www.enlightenment.org/p.php?p=news/show&l=en&news_id=20

"I have not had a successful shutdown or restart using the "off" button on the ibar." Both the exit menu and the shutdown/restart options in the e17 system menu call the same scripts . I have had lots of people test O2 out and no one had shutdown issues but i dont know if any one used a net book. Does it shut e17 down and drop you at the command line? Do you have issues with the regular puppy 431?

So sorry I wasn't very clear; I have not tested on a netbook, I will be soon. The shutdown issue is with;
Fujitsu Lifebook T-series 12"
Intel Pentium M
Intel Video
I have not had this issue on this machine with 431 or derivatives of until now. It does not exit to prompt rather to a blank screen & locked.
-Regards

hi |
|
runtt21 hello, and probe the macpup opera 2.0 and is very beautiful, one of the features I most like is that the e17 menus are translated into the language selected in the installation (in my case Spanish) This never happened in previous macpups
thanks to you and your staff, very good puplet

Thank you cgt_1991. This is one of those times when someone find something that one of our pup's can do and I had no idea about it. Kind of scares me a little.....
