Well count me as one of those who had never considered the consequences here! I will in future! Thanks, bill. Shocked

Confused

Fascinating.
If so inclined you could hack a web enabled photocopier . . .

http://boingboing.net/2010/03/26/discarded-photocopie.html

Good info to know. Quite serious really Cool

What happens when the washing machine is web enabled? Ours puts up a phone number for an engineer when at fault, I wanted auto calling.
What happens when it starts to get spam ads?

....and just imagine what it's like for technophobes......

Thanks for posting this.

I had read a couple years ago that most copies use disks that record everything until written over with newer info. I specifically bought a new all-in-one printer that does copying just to eliminate my use of public copiers.

I understand that unwiped disks go for 10 - 20 pounds UK in Nigeria (up to $50 US).

Do they still market any machines (fax or otherwise) using thermal transfer film, or anything like it?

I remember saving the film whenever we replaced it in one of our first few fax machines, because you could unroll the used film and read everything that had been printed through the machine. Neutral

This post from Bill has finally stopped me sitting on
photo copiers and scanning my derrière.

Why? Think of the lovely message it would send to those nasty privacy invaders if they were presented with that after working so hard to recover the hard drive data! Twisted Evil

Gee, I hate it that I have gone and thrown a wet blanket on our
exhibitionist friends Rolling Eyes But technology is a double-edged sword. It appears, that a very high government official was railing about Ipods, cell phones and the like lately. Seems it is interfering with their keeping things in the dark. Don't you just hate it when that happens !?!? Wink
