I've got Puppy up and running, but need to get the libraries
libpkgchk6451li.so and libjawt.so installed.
But where are they ?
and how do I do that ?
I've been using pupget and dotpup and can't see these specific libs at all. A Google search lists discussion about them but not a source.
mystified........
Pete
Where are libpkgchk6451li.so and libjawt.so libraries ?
Do you have the link of the homepage of the program?
I often search libs on http://packages.debian.org , and extract them with undeb from the Dotpups-Wiki.

Many thanks Mark
It was Open Office that I was attempting to install, and the pupget process threw up the advice about the libs reqrd.
Since then, I dowloaded the OO shortcut icon thing, and OO works just fine, loads text, spreadsheet etc.
Now I want to upgrade to the version I am using on the XP laptop, which is 2.0 beta I think. I have the instrucitons from the Wiki, so am off to try that now.
best regards

You might wait til tomorrow, if you need an international version.
I currently upload a bugfixed version (difference is only the international support), see this post:
http://www.murga.org/~puppy/viewtopic.php?t=6824
But the upload needs several hours, so if you are english, you can use the existing one.

Ok Dokey, I'll try that link.
I'm rebuilding the Linux boxes today anyway, so that will take a bit of time.
For the interested I have a standard desktop PC brand name of Tiny, which runs Xandros 3 Desktop. Good enough.
I also have an ITX board PC which I built about 3 yrs ago as an emergency test PC, i.e. to recover hdds with. This one now runs PUPPY.
Furthermore I am working on rescuing a Javelin POS terminal which will be running PUPPY also. Its basically a 333Mhx PC with 128Mb RAM and has a USB port to attach peripherals to. I have a 4-port hub connected with USB keyb & mouse and it was all OK until I changed something........ B-)
My other two PCs run Win XP for compatibility and necessity, but not through choice...... B-)
