1. "You are gonna have to write down such complexity"
I don't...
What I do is:
(a) Use Acerose Password Vault in its portable form, and use WINE to run it.

(b) Then copy-n-paste from inside the vault to the password window.
When using copy-n-paste, the length doesn't matter.

(c) Must remember to clear the clipboard afterward.
OR...

(d) I run a particular Puppy [Lighthouse] from an optical disk with a pupsave on a Flash Drive partition, only for things like internet banking...
AND...
Disable saves during the session.
AND...
Configure to be given the choice to save or not at shut-down.
Not saving changes loses all changes to the clipboard.
And any malicious changes too of course.

G'day Sylvander,
thank you for the tips on:
- disabling Saves to USB Stick during a session
- making Save optional at Shutdown

I have added the last one to all of my pup_saves and I'm wondering why Puppy doesn't have this as a standard feature? Booting from CD, Puppy always makes Save optional at Shutdown. Why not the same with all Frugal Boots? including those from USB Sticks?

I was in the security section of the forum
when one of my posts displayed as above
this cryptic line went on for quite awhile . . .

Now . . .
rather than believe this was a debug error of the forum (as it stated)
I will demonstrate tin-foil-hat thinking:

THEY (Government hackers, commercial penguin attack force, conspirators
from UFO - choose your favourite etc) had clearly encrypted and thwarted my efforts . . .

Nothing to worry about?

Have no fear
here is some FUD:
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... 465#427465

Incidentally the only thing
known to consistently crash Puppy is
Adobe Flash (Steve Jobs may be right
to exclude them from the Ipad - though
other considerations are going on too)

For those who are trying to wean themselves off
the paranoid brain. Try turning off the firewall for an hour
(you can do it!) :?
Puppy ran for its initial years with no firewalls
and was safe. 8)
Without a firewall, what might happen?
The evil 'they' might not do anything . . .
Best not take any chances?
Reinforced tin-foil hats all around . . . :D

Lately I have been using a Puppy
that downloads files as a secured user (Spot)
into a secret location of my choice.
I can not tell you which version of Puppy
because then you would worry that your
version does not do that.
Hey - you need to worry to be a paranoid
So I will tell you
Puppy Fatdog64
Only works on 64bit computers
Oh you 32bit paranoids should be scared now . . .

I'd be scared if I had the time to do so.
The only windows I have are those on my home.

Open Chromium
click on the spanner
under the bonnet
content settings
cookies
adobe flash settings

What is all that about?

Google is keeping an eye on you
Adobe Flash is a full programming language . . .
and 'they' are watching you
Looks like an advanced sort of cooky to me
(probably in preparation for GoogleTV)

Someone pass the bacofoil . . .

Spyware for kiddies?
http://www.salon.com/technology/col/gar ... 5/brodcast

I was just phoned by a company 'Accident Helpline'
claiming an accident had been witnessed outside my home.
They reluctantly gave their address as 'Central London'
Sorry I need specifics before I talk to anyone
I am unsure of, they hung up as I was not cooperating with whatever scam script they were promoting.
Mind you I was kind to the Jehovah's Witnesses
who called this morning - telling them I was a Buddhist
rather than a Satanist. They were elderly and too much excitement might cause the end of their world.

As adults we can deal with these scams

Cyber vested interests are gaining access to
kids.
We have to be paranoid for them
as they do not have the capacity.

Keep your fledgling penguins safe.
Allow them to use Puppy.

Peace of Puppy

:)

I am happy (for our tin hats) to provide the Puppy IRC conspiracy
It probably does not exist but who knows?

I was happily using IRC in Puppy Lucid 5.1 (Beta3 509)
when I was kicked off (I think)
and could not get back in

I can no longer connect to the IRC Puppy channel
even with a change of software
Could it be part of this:
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... 543#439543

It might just be a bug
but I think our tin foil hats deserve a real conspiracy
to get their worry beads into . . .

Ehhm it was most likely a server hiccup. Multiple people had the same problem around the same time. Try again. If it still won't work, maybe choose a different server to connect through.
Try this list:

Hi Lobster

Well at least our operating systems are not sending personal information to mr gates.
Could not block it in W*****S 7 so stopped using it.
Read some alarming stories about government monitoring (UK)
Is there anything that can be done to remain private from google?
Pass the tin foil hat please

In my continuing efforts to find something (rather than the usual nothing) for our intrepid tin hats to concern themselves with . . .
I have noticed that Firefox has somehow decided to go to http://bi/ every time it starts up . . .
The message 'It works' comes up on screen . . .

What works? I close the tab and it comes back next Firefox start.
Am I being foxed by the fox? It does not work for me
- so who are 'they' working for?

With scroogle there's no options panel on the left side (timeline, etc, etc) and the links contain all the same analytics, etc, anyway...so what's the point? I'm liking Ghostery, where I can block them.
