Mtr Traceroute

#1 Post by aragon »

Home: http://www.bitwizard.nl/mtr/
Version: 0.75 + 0.77
mtr combines the functionality of the 'traceroute' and 'ping' programs in a single network diagnostic tool.

As mtr starts, it investigates the network connection between the host mtr runs on and a user-specified destination host. After it determines the address of each network hop between the machines, it sends a sequence ICMP ECHO requests to each one to determine the quality of the link to each machine. As it does this, it prints running statistics about each machine.
Overwrites buildin version.

Compiled and tested in 4.31 (0.7.7). Better don't install 0.7.7 in Puppies < 4.3 as there might be problems with gtk-version.

Probably. Install it and see.

Mtr exists in Puppy 4.12 on v0.72 Aragon has provided a more recent build.
What about a Whois???
Have you looked?

Whois is in Puppy 4.12, as well, in version 4.7.26.

Open an rxvt window in puppy and type "which <command>" to see if <command> exists in your version of Puppy.
