It's been around a while, on a previous puppy arcade thread...

Nestopia is at http://ppm.scottjarvis.com/emulation/NES/Nestopia/nestopia-1.4.0_i486.pet

And bSNES requires QT, that may be why it's not available for Puppy - large dependencies... and there are smaller alternatives...
(although not as accurate in the emulation department, of course)

nope, the linux version requires a CD..

SDLMAME seems fussier about romsets than xmame.. it must be that..
i have metal slug roms that work in xmame, but not sdlmame...

allright...so just keep tryin roms basically lol

this really wont be used for much gamen...as i kinda retired this pc from that..i used to have it rigged from a mini laptop...to a dekstop..playing Sa-mp (www.sa-mp.com) ...bout 12-20 fps lol...playble most of the time.(when i had ubuntu on it..and ran samp..via an asi loader and an algorithm for the vid card..it got like..1-maybe..3 fps lol..i was a tank)

Really its just used to like idle..in irc/ventrillo...and somen i can grab up when im mobile...but haven some games to play is always a need. ...really only thing i NEED is to get this damn mangler workin -_- ..haven shitty luck... pidgin dont even wanna work rofl...some g_strmp error..but meh... if i really need to sign into my msn..theres always meebo...or i can just get some other im client.

just gotta get me some good roms on here..n64 runs like balls...which is the shitty intel 945's fault......so i doubt psx will work...so i'll be reduced to snes or some sega..but thats cool.. I also put puppyarcade on my main pc..(i had to..fucked my bootloader for winblowz :/ ) Its a pent4 duelcore..2.4ghz..2gig ram..still a shitty intel 865g -_- 3d only...havent tested anything with it but i might.

BSNES is slooooowww. It's the MAME of arcade emulators. Optimized for accuracy, and not speed. Doesn't really fit the theme of the project IMO.

I have a question about the file hosting. Would it be possible to have a Hotfile mirror added to the official download page?

bSNES does indeed require particularly high system specifications, and takes up a large amount of space.. I agreed with you, that bSNES is not really suited for Puppy Arcade..

And I'll look into a Hotfile mirror...
Do none of the current mirrors work for you?

BSNES runs 90% of the games fullspeed (60fps) on an AthlonXP 2600+ box (a 7~8 year old PC). It even runs Yoshi's Island (a SuperFX2 game) at over 50fps. Is that slow for you?

It's amazingly fast for the accuracy this emulator provides (much more accurate than MAME)

Of course that's not slow.. But I have Puppy Arcade playing SNES games nicely on a 700mhz celeron.. bSNES is a better emulator, but not for Puppy Arcade.. Especially with all the QT libs..

Although I do have bSNES installed on my XP machine (Sempron, 1Ghz).. Runs nicely..

No, they work. It's that for me they seemed to limit my bandwidth to about half of it's capability.

I'm on a slow connection as it is...

PostPosted: Thu 24 Jun 2010, 09:55    Post subject: how to hide stop wbar ?

Though its not entirely the right place posting my question I'll give it a try.

Because of the heat (Netherlands) running turbopup. However, when in abiword or seamonky, gimp keeps popping up 30 times an hour. Wonder if I keep hitting the wbar for that reason.

Could anyone tell me how to disable the wbar ? Thanks in advance.

Meanwhile after a so maniest search on google found this :

http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=51812

Now in Wary not yet overheaterd give it a try later.

In puppy arcade, wbar is started in /root/Startup.. Try looking there..

Subject description: Looking for a solution

I'm looking for a solution to how I can auto start up a loader and rom so that the machine will turn on and boot right up into the game I choose. Has anyone done this yet? This is to make it more of an arcade machine, really.
