Latest pidgin for puppy 4.2 v2 Deeper thought |
|
The latest pidgin only works with 4.3 because of dependency issues. I use pidgin quit a bit on my other linux computer. I would like it configured with dependencies and the facebook plugin.
Thanks to anyone who tries.

There have been two .pets of Pidgin 2.7.1 posted to the forum; you can try those. I could only find one of them on a quick search, however (though I know there definitely was another... I think it was posted in an odd place, though.): http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=56438
(Edit: Found it - http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=56670. It looks like a few things may have been disabled on compile, based on the end of the post, though.)
However, the Facebook plugin is a third-party plugin unsupported by Pidgin, whose devs recommend you use the XMPP method to connect to Facebook chat in Pidgin (as does Facebook). But if you still want to use the plugin, you can find it here: http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=52142

It doesn't work. Too many dependencies, and it was also 4.3 specific.
