Making a Puppy from raw packages

#1 Post by Iguleder »

As far as I know, Woof is able to download the T2 8.0rc raw packages Barry compiled for Quirky and assemble a Quirky from them.

I'm trying to do the same - I have a huge pile of packages I compiled manually for a special Puppy, it's still top secret, only some people from the IRC know about it. Basically, I have my own distro that I'm working on (which has nothing to do with Puppy) and these packages have some use even if I fail with making a Puppy from them.

So, let's get to the point ... Does anyone know how to get Woof and my packages to know each other and actually produce a working puplet from them? :)

I have absolutely no idea how to do this. I tried to examine the Quirky stuff in Woof but I still don't get it.

1.)puppy could be built with your own custom packages

2.)it can be built by using other package formats such as TXZ packages

3.) it can be built using a different package manager pkgtools to register packages

4.) it can be built with a non standard kernel without a puppy kernel config

5. it can be built without installing one pet package

6. I can say that because I did it

so it should be much easier to do it any other "standard official way" :D
by running a few scripts

BTW mine is top secret too but some people might find it if they are curious :D
