Remember to turn up the volume
the sound is in ogg vorbis format for smallness etc and runs in Puppy - not sure about Windows

pawed cast march 28th

Hi Lobster,

Just listened to your captioned pawedcast. Great info.

I was especially struck by your using the word modular to describe the .sfs file system as it is being used by various puppians for various needs.

The image that immediately came to my mind was the screwdriver handle, and the many different types of screwdriver heads that can be attached and used. I suppose that could be classified as modular use of the screwdriver... 8)

If someone can think "outside the box" for a screwdriver, and come up with something better, just think of all the different combinations of .sfs files that could be constructed.

Thanks again for the pawed cast.

Good analogy the right tool for the right job
This way of working came to me when I needed to do some graphics work - so I placed Nathans Grafpup into the CD and rebooted

I do have a four CD in one CD player system somewhere . . . but better to have .sfs modules.
In many ways the pupget system works in this way . . . and MU's dotpup catalogue/installer but only with individual programs . . .
The advantage of developing in this way means Barry develops the core Puppy and others are able to stay within the main Puppy experience without constantly upgrading when a new distro comes up but to develop specialist versions . . .

As I say we need the process documenting (I think Nathan was or has done this?) and we need developers to develop and tease the advantages for end users. Hope it makes sense I have seen postings were this is being discussed. Are there projects working in this way?
