Chris, this is the 2nd VPN application that you have asked for.
I strongly suggest you do some reading and research about VPN so you can better understand its different implementations, because at the moment there's a fair chance that what you're asking for will not achieve what you actually want !
The first thing to be aware of is that there are different VPN systems and protocols.
Forum member HairyWill concisely outlined the 3 most common: PPTP (Micro$oft aligned), CiscoVPN and OpenVPN -

The title of this thread contains "Make Puppy Secure in Public Wifi". OK, so if you install tinc, from a public wifi spot will you then have access to a server which is running tinc?
If not, I suggest you revisit your original request regarding Comodo TrustConnect. At least they provide the server backend for you ... at a price.
According to Comodo's Linux Configuration Guide -
http://www.comodo.com/trustconnect/Linu ... _Guide.pdf
there's nothing special about their VPN protocol - it's OpenVPN. So there's probably no need to install Comodo's own gui, you just need to do standard OpenVPN stuff.
MU provided manual instructions for OpenVPN here -
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... 421#416421
but since you seem wedded to the concept of a gui, you could use GAdmin-OpenVPN-Client -

Oh, and it's not a good idea to ask for such information on Barry's developer blog.

I actually found TOR
It is hidden here
http://puppylinux.org/wikka/Tor
There should be a TOR thread with the information here in this forum
Or maybe it is hid somewhere in this forum also
But I cannot click the link for tor-0.2.1.26-p5.pet * Build: compiled within Puppy 5.....
I also cannot click on polipo-1.0.4.1-p5.pet * Build: compiled within Puppy 5
I have the freedom of expression in any internet forum including Barrys Developer blog unless there are rules against it
And, that Comodo one is free for personal use
Comodo VPN servers are very very secure

Well it's good you have found Tor. So you're no longer asking for someone to contribute a tinc dotpet anymore?
My comments about the compatibility, usability and limitations of tinc remain correct, and relevant.
Yes, there is a basic free VPN access plan with Comodo. So my comments about its usage with OpenVPN remain correct, and relevant ...

Yes, I never challenged this.chrismt wrote:Comodo VPN servers are very very secure
I never disputed your "freedom of expression". I politely explained that it's the wrong place for such requests, based on my knowledge of the Developer Blog gained over the past 5 years. Significantly, Barry did not reply to your request.chrismt wrote:I have the freedom of expression in any internet forum including Barrys Developer blog unless there are rules against it
I don't want Comodo or TINC anymore as I have TOR
Most of the requests by others are also unanswered so there is no big deal in this regard
I don't expect anyone to reply to any of my message, let alone Barry, as this is a fractured community where Pet are lying in different places
And Barry don't reply to every posts of everyone all the time even if that guy is more than 5 years old in puppy
I asked for Pidgin 2.7 for many months and only recently there is a Pidgin 2.7 pet
So, there isn't any benefit in debating with anyone over here but some people like me are optimistic all the time in life
I didn't say Comodo isn't based on OpenVPN, I know it already
But Comodo VPN servers are very secure and there are a list of access servers to choose from based on locations like in UK, US etc
And only if I can use the Comodo GUI, I can choose them
Regards
