Patriot, thank you the drivers for the MP250 much appreciated. My wife bought me this printer scanner as a suprise and I thought I was going to have a problem finding drivers and installing it. Pheww didnt have to tell her she would have to exchange it. Once again thanks a million.

server-error-internal-error

At what exact step do you get this error message?

Have you made any changes to the file /etc/cups/cupsd.conf?

I did a test install of this printer in Puppy 4.3.1 using the Gutenprint driver for the MP170 and it worked.

I got the error after choosing the driver.

However I did upgrade Cups to 1.3.11 and use gutenprint : seems to works ( no printer to check at the moment).

so no idea if its because CUPS or/and Gutenprint

I'm not sure what you are doing.

I started with a frugal install of Puppy 4.3.1 and did an upgrade to CUPS 1.3.11 from here.. If I then try to install a printer, there are no Gutenprint drivers available.

I then install the newer Gutenprint package as described here.. Now I have a driver for your MP170 and it installs correctly.

Just to say that the i1800 pet works perfectly with CUPS 1.4.3 in Puppy 5.1.1. Only point to watch, although the printer is branded as ' Pixma i1800 ' it appears on the Cups list as ' Canon i1800 '.

how do I access the ink level check with this driver. I can see the icons for the various inks listed in the dir but I cant find a prog to run. Do I use escputil instead or am I missing somehing (probably) really simple?

I tried to get your canon mx330 d/l, but, it is gone due to inactivity. If you could point me to the file or re-vitalize your existing location I would be indebted. I haven't been using this long, but, I would LOVE to keep using it. The printer is my hard point at this time. Any assistance would be FANtastic!

Here is an MX330 driver PET. It will be listed in CUPS as "Canon MX330 Series".

Here is an iP4700 driver PET. When you run CUPS, it will be listed as a Canon iP4700 series, not as a Pixma.
