I have a problem in puppy linux ver 5.1 sound,
how do sound configuration on puppy linux ??
and hardware that I use SigmaTel STAC9221 A2...
please help me....

bump - Just checking to see if you fixed your problem -
Lucid 5.1 seems to have a quirky way of setting the sound...
Run alsawizard in console... hopefully the steps are straight-forward enough
you'll hopefully get a woof woof at the end...
if not run alsamixer - check all your levels are up.

I don't know if this was helpful for the OP, but your response to this thread was exactly the answer to the problem i was having with Alsa and my netbook. I couldn't figure out why I couldn't hear anything when I was apparently having success configuring the driver for my integrated sound, checked the Alsamixer settings -- and boom! The speakers were zeroed out.
