Barry, and/or other significants
Could it be possible and practical to publish high-level feature list BEFORE each official release, things like
1. kernel version
2. Major libraries (libc, GTK...) versions
3. WM (should iceWM be the default, the XP theme looks very Windows to me)
4. ....
I am thinking to replace rxvt with mrxvt on Puppy 1.0.3, and like to know if I need to update/install some libraries.
If I am not mistaken, you are using VectorLinux 5.0 Std (RC1) as the official development platform, it has 2.6.11.7 and 2.4.29 kernels. Only 2.6 kernel comes with headers and full-line of kernel modules. I can't find 2.4 kernel header package to install.
If 1.0.4 uses 2.4.29, which Puppy starts 2.6?
1.0.3 is about 58-60M, will it ever grow over 62MB so that it won't fit on to a 64MB flash pendrive?

Re: A proposal for Barry: Feature highlights BEFORE releases
Well I am just an insignificant cructacean but my whiskers tell me we might be seeing a Puppy 1.0.4 this week - hopefully on Monday
However my predictive powers are sometimes amiss.
Perhaps this is of some interest . . .
