using puppy with a Re-writable CD disc. Subject description: Puppy
Hello Forum people,
please can you explain the basics of using a Re-writable CD disc as
a puppy storage area?
My laptop does not have a hard drive and i wanted to use a Re-writable
CD disc to store the state of Puppy and my work.
Is it true to say that in this example you are never really making any kind of PUppy install? For example, you are not doing a frugal or full hard drive install and not any USB pen install.
I was reading that the Rewritable CD will not get the typical PUPSAVE file on power down, but instead it gets a collection of files burned to it.
On subsequent power ups...will Puppy grab the last saved session from CD disc?
Is it true to say that while you operate puppy in this manner....Puppy may often look at the Rewritable CD for information during the session....LIVE...... as if it was using the CD disc like a hard drive?
How large are the sets of files that get saved to the Rewritable CD on power down? (512 megs like a pupsave file?.....or smaller files of the few changes you made during that session?)

Hi Vince,
It sounds to me like you want to use Puppy on a multisession CD or DVD. Read through a few of the threads in this section of the forum to get some ideas. Here's a good one to start with.
