Dear green_dome,

Please do not think no one is using this. You are the Wine expert for Puppy Linux. Thank you, thank you for keeping it updated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In your case, very little comments is good. It just works. I wish others would follow your example and latch onto one of the major programs and keep them updated like you have done with Wine.

G'day green_dome,
Thankyou for the Wine pets. Being able to run IrfanView from Puppy is brilliant. Wine is SO well-named - it just gets better and better with age.

Dear green_dome,

Wow, that was quick!. As usual, it works like a charm. I am still trying to find an app that uses animated cursors, since they apparently work now in this version.

If you know what you're doing, you might only need the main Wine .pet (wine-1.3.5-i486.pet, in this case). Normal end-users might just need the main .pet and the documentation.

At least, I've only used the main .pet. :)

green_dome: Thanks! I'm still working out how to compile things with my particular setup, myself... is there a good place to find dev packages, or do I have to resort to the Ubuntu and similar archives, for that?

Dear green_dome,

Again, if we could avail ourselves of your services for 1.3.6, which just came out... This version finally has support for X11 cursors, which means X11 cursor themes should work (http://www.winehq.org/announce/1.3.6).

Many thanks in advance,

Menu entries, Color Setter, and other stuff I got from the file 'winegoodies.tar.gz' provided by forum member 'technosaurus'. The only changes I made to the contents of that file were to delete the file 'Wine_regedit.desktop'. That appears to be a duplicate file. I also deleted the file 'winetricks' and replaced it with the updated one.

For help with Gecko,

I use the console to install packages from <winetricks>. For help with this I use

Code: Select all

winetricks -h

my graphics card is a Nvidia GeForce 8400GS, so I install the 'NVIDIA-190.42-k2.6.30.5-1.pet' from this post.

Makoto,
is there a good place to find dev packages, or do I have to resort to the Ubuntu and similar archives, for that?
<Ref.>

I have found .dev files usually by google searching for a specific application. Notice the files I used when compiling Wine are from a few different websites. I am always on the lookout for other places that host .dev files.

Dear green_dome,

Works splendidly and we can finally use our normal X11 cursors. This is the first version to support them, so I am pleased. Wine is really developing nicely....

Thanks and kind regards,
vovchik
