Hi I don't use Lucid but if you install http://mirrors.kernel.org/ubuntu/pool/u ... 1_i386.deb
it will tell you what you are missing to get it working then just go to http://packages.ubuntu.com/lucid/musescore and install the missing parts, Don't install them all, Just only the missing ones, The ones that come with Lucid shouldn't be replaced.

If you download any puppy 4.0 version the musescore I compiled will work
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=34321
There are tons of puplets based on series 4.0, or maybe someone from series 5.0 might stepup to the plate.
I'll consider building one for 2.14X if need be.

type "mscore" into a terminal and see what comes up. It's working for me using lucid 5.1.

Actually, 5.1.0 on this machine, although it should probably work with either. If you type "mscore" into the terminal, it should tell you what's missing. Make sure you've installed musescore-common_0.9.6 as well as
musescore_0.9.6, or it won't work. I'll put together some pets, and try it on other versions later.

I'd post a pet with an icon (everything but QT files), but the uploader doesn't seem to be working right now.

meanwhile:

Here's the QT4 deps:

I am going to try to upload these files I got from another distro and see if pget downloads it.

Edit: So far, I couldn't get the files uploaded. I am able to open musescore 0.9.6.3. but with a bunch of errors.
