pupdial tray add on

#1 Post by 01micko »

This is just a simple little tray app for pupdial that runs when you connect and clicking the icon runs pupdial so you can disconnect.

NOTE: Pupdial is in fairly rapid development with wary 5 and lucid 5.2 just around the corner. It is not recommended to use this pet unless you are familiar with Puppy. It is tested in the luci-23X dev series and Wary 0.9.X series.

The intention here is to improve the ergonomics of pupdial.

Barry has gone some way with this with the default connection choice, however, if you have a laptop you may find yourself switching between wireless networking, 3G modem net access, dialup access, adsl or whatever.

This tray icon allows you to easily bring up pupdial to switch it off, rather than fumbling though the menu if pupdial is not your default connection choice. More functionality may be added later.

Richard (rerwin) has helped me to develop this to a point where the original files are not overwritten, and as such future proofing (somewhat) this app.

Note: Only woof developed puppies later than wary-096, luci-235 and dpup-009 (and probably zpup, dpup fork) are supported.

Previous users of this app will see that there is no 'lite' or 'fancy' version. We have settled on the 'fancy' icon as the default. The author basically states that it's ok to use the icon for anything as long as it's legal and moral.http://cemagraphics.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d1u7ur4

Genie sources are in the pets at /usr/share/doc

No warranty.
