Maybe the work is still not finished (or else I have a problem)
When I logout, I come to the X command prompt and have to type reboot/poweroff/xwin startkde.

Altho I remember from kdpup that there was another intermediate menu for selecting reboot/poweroff/........

Beem: in the Trinity SFS I made when you plug in a removable drive it shows a nice dialog and all removable drives are visible in the system thing with the option to mount/unmount.

It works perfectly under the last Squeeze testing build, since it has HAL from Debian Wink

Hmm, well, haven't messed with pup_event scripts but there are some interesting modifications, in some puplets drive icons can apear on xfce deskie, and on grey's boxpup431 he even has them on wbar ! Shocked

So yeah everything is possible in gnu/linux world just needs lots of knowledge and investigating to get in every corner of your OS, but that's also why puppy is so interesting, I think there are many setups on different puppy versions and puplets never seen on other distros. Laughing

Trying with squeeze 009
Prepared everything with a pristine save file.
Installed the Trinity package and rebooted.
I got the familiar ble background and a message that there was an error with kstartupconfig.

I changed to jwm and executed kstartupconig, but got an error:

I guess it's because later testing builds are loaded with heaps of additional libraries, thanks to mplayer and gnome-mplayer Smile

009 misses some libraries but it won't be a problem once a final Squeeze is released.

Now I'm making a new set of SFSs, trying a different approach, less modular, one "base" SFS and another SFS with all important applications (Kpdf, Kopete, Amarok, Konversation and so on).

I don't find libaudio in the debian packages.
Can libaudio2 be used when I symlink libaudio to it?

media manager
So I tried to plug and unplug USB devices.
Nothing happens, nor at the desktop, nor in media:/
lshal is giving output, so I assume hal is running.
I looked in service manager and saw the media manager is running.

So still no luck.

Beem, make sure you have libdbus-qt-1-1c2 and a running dbus.

I see a dbus-daemon in the tasks
A hald and a udevd

I hope this is as it should be.

The situation is worse now, as only one partition out of the 4 of my USB HDD is seen in Pmount.
Even if I rescan the others aren't seen.

Should they all be in fstab?
