I tried the post that helped me but I have not found
please what can I do?

First of all, you have a new Eee. Don't expect much - with new netbooks you'll have to wait for hardware support.

I bought my 1001PX (announced on May this year) two months ago - it took 3 months till headphones worked, the kernel guys fixed the cursed bug so I must use either 2.6.35.5+ or the LTS 2.6.32.21+ kernel. All the Puppies you mentioned don't work for me.

Just imagine, people had to live about half a year with non-functioning headphones - luckily, I bought mine not very long ago so I had only one month of suffering. I'm a musician, that's true suffering for me Smile

You should try a recent Puppy with a recent kernel, the function key drivers improve with each kernel version. With my Eee and 2.6.35.7, only the audio keys, the wireless on/off and brightness keys work.

You'll need third-party software to activate the rest of the Fn keys until the hardware-related hotkeys work in a hypothetical future kernel. The ones that call the task manager or switch displays are software-controlled, GNOME and KDE hook to them and do whatever they do, Puppy lacks some hotkey daemon but Puppeee has something for that.

I really hope jemimah has a plan to compile a new kernel for Puppeee 4.4, could do wonders with 10XX models.

It doesn't work. I think it also didn't work under Fedora 13 with both GNOME and Xfce.

4.4 has 2.6.34.7 at the moment. I see 2.4.36 is out so I guess I'll bump it up just for you Iguleder. Wink.

Cinghialinux, please run the following commands:

Code:
killall acpid
acpid -dl

Then press the touchpad button and paste the resulting output.

Please try Puppeee 4.4Beta4 and let me know if the problem is resolved. Don't use your old save file - start over fresh.

thanks for the advice Jemimah, now works!!! with puppeee 4.4 beta4,finally the FN + F3 to disable-enable the touchpad works, and I can write freely without the escape slider ...
asus 1015 with puppeee now finally use good use of this eeepc, without much wait, as with window seven!
you solved a problem that Ubuntu still has not resolved 10.10 on this netbook!!!!
May God reward you for the kind help you have given me,now I hope not to bother because I think it's working well.
