Epson CX3200 Scan fails in Ubuntu 10.04

#1 Post by shobuz99 »

hello. I'm new here.
I've searched the posts and can't find any previous on this.

I'm getting an error message when I use XSane version 0.996
to scan with my Epson CX3200 printer/scanner, using a USB port.
The error is "Failed to start scanner: invalid argument"

The printer part works fine.
The printer driver is STP01419.PPD
Make and model are: Epson Stylus CX3200 - CUPS+Gutenprint v5.2.5

This used to work, but I don't remember how long ago.
Possibly with an earlier version of Ubuntu. I'm now using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS.

I've tried updating the /etc/sane.d/dll.conf file and adding "epkowa"
at the end of the file. No help.
I think I need to know how to unlayer this problem better.
Would anyone have advice for me?
I apologize, if I've overstepped rules on this board.

Thank you for any help.

Just to be clear - you are asking for help to get your scanner running in Ubuntu.

Have you tried running it in Puppy?

rcrsn51,
I guess I joined the wrong forum. I don't use Puppy.
Sorry. Thank you for pointing that out.
I should probably try the Ubuntu forums, right?
I guess I saw "Linux" and assumed incorrectly, that
my problem was related here.

Thanks again for your help, anyway.
