Can I transfer my Puppy install to another computer? |
|
I'm confused. Let's say I install puppylinux into my harddrive on a laptop, install a few dotpups, and then take it somewhere, somewhere on the forums said something about you not being able to transfer them.
(Would it also work if you just transfered the pup001 file to another computer?)

Do you want to clone the install to another computer, or just transfer your personal settings to the other computer?

The only way I know of for getting your personal settings onto another computer from your current puppy install is to copy the pup001 file over. You will of course have to reconfigure things like modem, and maybe some X settings, but the transfer shouldn't be too difficult (at least as far as setup is concerned).
Good luck.
