Well, it seems that Wary is "good enough" to become a Release Candidate.

Note: I am in "holiday mode" in Melbourne, but managing to put in a few hours on Puppy stuff every day. There will be a few days coming up when that will drop further.

Fresh manual frugal install of Wary 104 on my main Linux box. Working sound, internet and the correct screen resolution on initial boot. Yes, the dreaded Realtek nic was connected on bootup.

Ethernet controller : Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL-8139/8139C/8139C+

Haven't installed anything yet but have acceleration with the default nv driver.

I did a frugal install of wary 104.
Everything is working on first boot,sound,wired network,and screen
resolution is correct.

I installed the devx and the kernel source sfs and exited to the
prompt and ran the NVIDIA-Linux-x86-260.19.29.run file which I had
downloaded from the nvidia web site.

I test it and its faster than other but I need the graphics stability . I cant compile that stuff.

Yes, so slow on Wary regular that highlighting never appears, even on a 754 machine. The highlighting speed on Small is less delayed, but enough to frighten the hoss'es.
Time to dump this awful browser once and for all?!

Installing SM 2.1beta1 fixes it, so it is primarily a compile issue? Also, leave browser open and load calendar (click on clock). V slow to render and black patch appears brieflt at top left of screen. Seems like a video driver issue.

Even better still, the really good news is that Opera11 will d/l and install as .deb(other) straight from their website + open(petget). Highlighting the URL in Opera is still a little quirky but nothing like the grief of SM. Incidentally, my downloader shows Opera11 @ 9.5Mb and SM @ 16Mb*. Adding a decent email client like Claws will add another 9Mb (Sylpheed ~1Mb?), although folks determined to stay small&fast can always use a webmail client at no further cost.
The 'create key' keeps popping up again.
Got a strange panel freeze-up whilst using PPM and selecting another repo. Managed to clear from the tray without restarting X. Other strange instances of mouse usage around files manipulation, etc - difficult to repeat or quantify?
2-barks and help page return every time exiting X and returning? Deliberate?

*Note that jemimah has just:

Chrome is gone, replaced by a much smaller, lighter, and cuter Midori

-perhaps this is the answer everyone (nearly) has been seeking (for Wary-small, at least)?

This is the links web browser, it creates an entry in the internet
section of the puppy menu.
It is set to run in graphics mode but if you don't want that open the
console and start it by entering the command links.
Compiled and tested in Wary 104rc.
edit: Works in lupu 515 too.

As with Wary 102; loading modules with usb or pcmcia devices
inserted causes a long count during boot.
Sometimes causes frozen cursor when using usb mouse.

Have not found any speed difference when booting 098 or 104
regular or small versions.

Wary consistently boots 8 secs. faster than any Luci on my 700m.
The fastest regular Puppy boot I've seen.

edit;

When booting from usb flash; don't seem to have any problems.

Downloaded and upgraded from 102 this morning. It performed beautifully, maintaining all the mods and applications I had added to 102. rjbrewer is right about still needing to insert the extra line in /usr/local/bin rox, but the upgrade process did it just fine.

I don't seem to be having any particular problems with Seamonkey as installed.
