How to connect internet using Globe Tattoo USB modem

#1 Post by tybuzz67 »

i installed lucid puppy and i found it exhilarating to have an OS that is not so bloated like WINDOWS and still has an appealing desktop wallpapers :)

my problem is how to connect to the internet using my HAUWEI USB modem (Globe Tattoo). i somehow manage to get the internet wizard connection wizard going but is asking me to fill this out:

APN = http.globe.com.ph

Phone = *99***1#

Username = globe

Password = globe

my problem is where can i locate or get the Phone? is it the number of the SIM CARD? or is it the number that the usb modem use to dial in order to connect? if that so, how to find the number? please help

well I FINALLY got around tinkering my puppy internet connection again and i did used the above configuration.:

1. click on the icon Setup in the desktop area
2. click Connect to internet or intranet
3. click Internet by dial-up analog or wireless modem
4. then use EXACTLY the configuration above.

note: if your modem is not detected yet click on the CHOOSE button and then click PROBE.

Hope this helps. because mine is running!

Thanks for the info - others have used the GPRS option in the Setup - Internet Connection wizard.

hmmm....my USB modem is up and running again. I just unmounted the USB modem let puppy probe (thru clicking Setup/Connect to Internet or Intranet/Internet thru dial up or wireless modem) my USB modem and since it is unmounted it did not detect the USB modem. I then plugged it back and let puppy probe it. it detected it, so i clicked connect to internet and waited for a few seconds and whala! im doing this in lucid puppy linux. thanks to burikoy12 in istorya.net for the configuration.
