Puppy Studio can't see Edirol UA-25EX USB sound card Subject description: Ubuntu Studio does |
|
I have Ubuntu Studio installed on my HP XW4200 workstation and that recognises my Edirol usb soundcard but when I boot up Puppy Studio 3.1 from a usb stick it does not recognise the Edirol - please help. I have tried configuring sound from set up but after selecting USB audio and rebooting I can't get the Edirol recognised
I always seem to be just one step from switching to Linux for a DAW

See
http://alsa.opensrc.org/index.php/Edirol_UA-25EX
or, try here/puppy studio thread
Devs don't necessarily search the forum

You may need to point him to this link, as there's a kernel patch

You should have asked this in the Puppy Studio thread. If no response after a few days, then perhaps PM the Puppy Studio developer, drawing his attention to your post.
Please don't post the same question more than one place in the forum. It is very rude to everyone else in the forum. Thanks.

My apologies Flash. Still finding my way around here. I will take this to the Puppy Studio thread.

Dagnavit - not getting the hang of this - I went to the Puppy Studio thread and posted, and it ended up here. Maybe I should have posted a reply in that thread?
Please delete from here and don't be angry

Hey there,
I have to admit I'm not familiar with this usb device. Have you tried looking for it in the interface settings in Qjackctl?

Hi 10wt3ch
Thanks for the pointer - I found it. I had been trying to find it by setup/setup ALSA sound. But selecting it in JACK did the trick.
Much appreciated
