:D Hello,
Version 6 Final

Well, a little cleanup, a better readme, and I think we are good to go...
So version 6 is it....
Any last requests / suggestions???
Is a script to detect that you are in a Linux partition needed???

I am looking at doing a multi-distro one, but that would be separate from this, and will take a good while....

Hi puppyluvr,

Version 5 is brilliant and I'm looking forward to your final version.

It took me some time to realize that I could backspace and change the "puppy pfix=..." settings - Perhaps that might be referenced in to the F1 help menu? It might also be useful to explain a few common requirements in the examples?

I assume it is now possible to make and run only a single copy; because the splash screens are stunning - even non-multi-users might appreciate that.

I also assume that the pets are installed separately to each Puppy version as may be desired, but the sfs files can be used from the inbuilt sfs directory?

There might be all sorts of clever ways to use this - e.g. for families on holiday.

Anyway, it's worth repeating that it's brilliant and it's gotten more and more user friendly with each new version. Great idea, great artwork and execution - surely a major winner.

My thanks and regards (to CD as well)

Added:

At the moment I'm using "puppy pfix=copy" and I wonder if there is a way to set that globally or for each puppy. Also is "pfix=copy" sufficient or is the full "puppy pfix=copy" necessary?

:D Hello,
@Sir Jasper , the pets can be accessed, as can the sfs files...
However, in order to mount the sfs`s, I think Puppy needs them to be in /mnt/home to see them, and after a reboot...

Thanks to all for the help and feedback,
vanchutr , npierce , and especially CatDude for the excellent Bootsplash Chooser....

Hi again puppyluvr,

It can be seen from the screenshot below that I am experimenting with the latest versions of Fluppy, Lupu and Wary.

The first four dated files are all Wary changes saved to the DVD, but as I didn't manage to put them in the Wary directory - I cannot also meaningfully save any changes to Fluppy and/or Lupu to the DVD.

The last save file is a failed experiment when I additionally burned it to the DVD durect from my hard drive.

------------------

If it's not too much of a pain, it would be interesting to know how you see the simplest ways to get the most out of your program - I can do almost everthing I need by deleting pfix=ram or adding pfix=copy to load and save changes from and to my hard drive partitions.

I haven't really understood the purpose of the pet and sfs directories or the use of some people names as well as Puppy versions in your screenshots.

My regards

:D Hello,
@Sir Jasper,
The pet and sfs directories are for portability..Say you want to use the CD/DVD to install a Puppy on a machine w/o internet, (or just want to avoid D/L time)..and want to install OpenOffice, Firefox, or whatever.. Carry your favorite Puppies, and your favorite pets and sfs files as well.. It was a requested feature...Great accessible backup for them as well.. 10 Pups, 100 pets, 10 sfs`s, etc...

And, those are not "peoples names" in my screenshots, they are custom ISO`s I have made for people...Naming their Puppy after them just helps me keep track... 8)

Huh, weird.

I was actually working on a similar project with BaCon, I even chose the same name.
I never got very far with mine, though, only an unfinished GUI.

Oh well, good job.
I'll download yours and give it a try :)

I have made a splash (proper name is a gfxboot message  ) especially for you.
It's not exactly ClipArt, but i hope it will do.

Just unpack it and copy the file Multipup into the directory MultiPup/boot/grub,
then when you run the MultiPup CD/DVD Creator application, skip choosing a Bootsplash.

Below is a screenshot of what it looks like.

:D Hello,

@Max,
Sorry, I missed the question in your subject line...
I would use Absolute mate,
i thought i read that somewhere at the top of the thread,
but it seems to have vanished. Rolling Eyes
Tested both ways, (relative/absolute) both seemed to work fine, so I took it out...

@ Anybody testing the install part yet??

MultiPup CD/DVD Creator

Good Day All
puppyluvr;
Generated the Multipuppet, should the the old Multipupv6 be deleted before install of the new pet?

The last dvd I created "last screenshot" is giving intermittent boot error boot device not found? May be my hardware? However there seems to be no problems with cd's in the same drive.

Saw a post by swiatmar yesterday in the lucid puppy 520 thread could be related?
Remaster interest me as well, as dose multi session!

520 and pburn is what I used to create the image.

Will continue testing on other pc's as I have time!

A Great Day To All! :D

NO...
@Bob, the pet just creates the proper links and files to point to where you put MultiPup and run it from the menu., thats all...
Just an "ease of use" thing..You must still have the Multipup directory for the program to run...The pet is specific to the location...If you move Multipup, you must generate a new pet to "install" it to the menu from there.....
